Central Information Bar gets a makeover

Business Administrator’s Central Information Bar is vital to its ability to provide a constant stream of business intelligence to you. It’s colourful, it’s functional, and it offers a myriad of business information.

It is in the nature of Business Administrator that it constantly collects information about both your business and other businesses. The Central Information Bar is there to provide constant feedback on key information about businesses, about what you are doing and about what Business Administrator itself is doing.

The Central Information Bar also provides feedback on any selectable entity on the system, whether it’s about contacts, stock, products or even finances. The information it provides is not comprehensive – it’s not intended to be – but it is designed to provide key high-level information that may be vital for your attention.

The Central Information Bar is extremely context-sensitive. It will not only provide information about an entity, but you can click and double-click it to achieve extended functionality. For example, if a company is selected, you can double-click the information bar, under Employees, to add an employee for that company. And you can quickly add contact information, addresses, phone numbers, web addresses, and so on, in a similar fashion.

In times to come, we’ll also be developing a profiling system for Business Administrator. This will work similarly to the Central Information Bar, but will hold much more information, including pictures about the selected entity. In addition, a document management system is planned for Business Administrator, and you will be able to drag and drop files onto the Central Information Bar to store the files on the server: the files will be marked as relevant to the selected entity, and can be retrieved or viewed on demand.
