Invoice Messages

When printing invoices, businesses often like to add a message to those invoices. This dialogue offers a route to adding messages to invoices, and controlling when they should appear. Or they can be messages to Business Administrator asking it to do something when an invoice is raised.

Location: Trade Manager, Utilities

Overview

It’s not the best form of marketing but putting messages on invoices can be useful. Invoice messages nearly always get read. So whether you are planning an event, want to send seasonal wishes, or report on your successes, adding such messages is very easy.

You can send messages to individual customers in way that makes it tailor made, or you can send messages to all customers that will receive an invoice. To that degree, the audience of the message is limited: only those customers that receive an invoice will receive the message. It’s not really a substitute for marketing.

You can also use Invoice Messaging to set up messages to Business Administrator, asking it to do things when invoices are raised.

The messages you send can be repeated on each invoice you send until a specific date. And Business Administrator specifically asks you whether or not you want to send the message with the next invoice that’s raised.

Types of message

To that end, there are two key types of message: Short messages and Long messages. Short messages are messages to Business Administrator.

Long messages are longer text messages that you can put on invoices for customer perusal. Business Administrator will not respond to Long messages.

In writing long messages, beware the length of the message. Business Administrator sees no priority in putting a message on an invoice. So if you wish to keep your invoices to one page each, be careful of the length of the content of messages.
