This dialogue allows you to transfer stock between branches or to assets. It is not specifically aimed at multi-branch businesses.
Overview
It is vital that a record of the movement of stock is kept as it moves around a business and it is equally vital that the source of assets is clear. When you report stock deliveries to Business Administrator, it assumes the location of stock. When it comes to a stock check, or sales of stock, Business Administrator will assume that stock is located as per its expectation.
In the branch-to-branch transfer scenario, the idea is to simply state what you are transferring, how many, and where to.
In the scenario where you want to transfer stock to asset, which is a common process, it’s simply a case of saying how many you are taking out of stock. Business Administrator will transfer them to the asset list, and you will have to answer questions later about those products as assets. This transfer may also provoke Business Administrator to request that you order more stock, or it may automatically order more stock if automatic ordering is on.
