From time to time, we like to demonstrate Business Administrator at shows, to journalists and to other people interested in the Business Administrator project.
Generator is a database and is designed to mimic a business going about its work. The business has 30 to 40 customers, has half a dozen or so staff, and has been trading for a number of years. Like any other business, it has had its high and low points.
Generator, of course, is fake data, automatically generated to mimic a fictitious business, and is designed to provide observers with a working copy of Business Administrator, but the generated data is not intended to form an accurate picture of any business.
Generator makes Business Administrator vulnerable to crashing. But we, naturally, focus on the real world environment to ensure Business Administrator works perfectly.
Generator sits alongside the installed database. The installed database is the database proposed for use by your business. If Generator is present, then Business Administrator asks whether you want to log on to that, or the installed database.
Pictures, screenshots, from the generated data are those that Chalestra uses in promoting Business Administrator, and they are also the pictures used on the Business Administrator website.
Logging on is neutralised because the data is not considered to be private, and should save observers time in using the system.
Other than being a risky system to use, all other functionality should work as it would in a real world environment.
With Generator, you cannot use Business Administrator Network systems, such as BAN (Business Administrator Network) messaging for business. This is because identification is impossible to achieve, and we don’t really want to put fake data on that system. To see these systems in operation, please contact us, and we’ll provide a real-time working demonstration.
If you feel you can contribute to the success of the Business Administrator project, and would like a copy of Generator, please do get in touch.
